Yoel Carreño
Principal Dancer
He was born in Havana. Studied at the Elemental Ballet School in Havana, and continued them at the National School of Ballet where he graduated with Golden Diploma. Among his principal professors are Elena Calá, Adria Velázquez, Migdalia Montero, Martha Iris Fernández, and Ramona de Sáa. As a student he was awarded with important distinctions such as the Silver and Gold Medals in the International Contest Meetings of Ballet Academies held in Havana 1996 - 1998.
In 1998 he joined the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, under the technical and artistic direction of Alicia Alonso.
In 2000 he was promoted to First Soloist and in 2001 to that of Principal Dancer, his current category. With the Ballet Nacional de Cuba he has toured several countries in the Americas (Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Brasil, and the United States), in Europe (Italy, Spain, England, France, Hungary, Portugal, and Holland), and in Asia (the Popular Republic of China, South Korea, Japan.) In Africa ( Tunez and Egypt).
He has been invited by important ballet companies and to dance events celebrated abroad, among them, the Washington Ballet, the United States of America (2001), the Ballet World Stars Galas, in Budapest, Hungary, (2001, 2002, 2003) South Korea (2004) and the International Ballet World Stars Gala, in Beijing, the Popular Republic of China, (2004).

She was born in Holguin and studied at the Art Vocacional School of
Holguin. She finish her studies at National Ballet School in Havana, where she graduate. Among her principal professors are Mirtha Ermida and Ileana Balmori. As student she won the gold medal in the international Ballet Competition celebrated in Havana in 1999.
In 2000 she join the National Ballet of Cuba, under the technical and artistic direction of Alicia Alonso.
In 2002 she was promoted to First Soloist and in 2004 to that of Principal Dancer, her current category.With the National Ballet of Cuba she has toured several countries.
